Bento box made of bentwood work. It was made between the Edo and Meiji periods. The lacquer peels off with age, giving it a very tasteful appearance. It is fun to think of ways to use it, such as putting away sewing tools or taking tea utensils out to the field.
 
曲げわっぱ
曲げ木細工の弁当箱。江戸時代から明治時代あたりでしょうか。経年変化で漆が剥がれ、とても味わい深い佇まい。裁縫道具をしまったり、茶器をいれて野点に出かけてみたり、使い道を考えるのはとても楽しい時間です。
