Lacquered（urushi） wooden box 
This lacquered wooden box is thought to have been made between the Edo and Meiji periods. The lid is deep, so that objects can be placed or stored on the lid. We do not know what purpose it was used for, but it is 2.5 cm deep, so please try to use it in a creative way.
 
漆塗りの木箱
江戸時代から明治時代ごろに作られたと思われる漆塗りの木箱です。蓋の部分が深くなっており、蓋の上にも物を置いたり収納したりできるようになっております。どういった用途でこういった構造になっているのかが分かりませんが蓋の上の深さが2.5cmほどあるので、是非工夫して使ってみてください。
